About Me

ABOUT ME:
I was born and raised in Visalia where I began my drawing career at Age 3. I painted my first artwork at 7 and did my first oil painting 11. Art has always been a big and important part of my life. I have a website as well as many art gallery pages and groups on Facebook. You can find those by doing a search under my name.

MY ART HISTORY:
I have always drawn and painted every subject in every medium. I have done many custom portraits of people and pets. These are usually painted in pastel on velour paper.

I love painting acrylic on canvas for all subjects including seascapes, landscapes and floral pieces.

A large portion of my work is commissioned custom artwork. I invite clients to send me their favorite photos, ideas, sizes, colors, and the price range they would like to stay in. This guides me to paint for them.

I have been a member of Clovis Art Guild and Alliance of California Artists for years.

MY ART EDUCATION:
I have been mentored and tutored by some of America’s finest artists: Sally Seago, Jerome Grimmer, Leslie Harrison, Sue Porter and Bonnie Doyle. I have taken classes and attended workshops consistently since high school. I have attended art classes from Clovis Adult School and Senior Art Classes at Clovis Senior Center for many years. I’ve gone for many workshops and 4 times I went to the Gold Country for three day workshops given by Lesley Harrison. I have received awards in the past years. Just this year I won second place in the portrait category of Alliance of California Artists. And I have won “Painting of the Month” and just this year I have received the honor of being chosen for the “Painting of the Year” award.

I have always taught and mentored many over the years. I am proud that one of my high school students spent her summer in France for art lessons.

I have five videos of my artwork on YouTube which can be found by searching Sandy Gunn.
